Overview
- The exam notice window has been shortened from about 45 days to roughly 21 days, according to the minister's written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
- The commission has fully moved to computer-based testing, reduced tiers in certain exams, and expanded three nationwide tests to 13 regional languages since 2022.
- Descriptive papers have been dropped from all exams except the Combined Hindi Translators examination, and interviews have been discontinued.
- Document verification is now handled by the ministries and departments that recruit, rather than by the commission.
- A centralised e-dossier system with role-based access and end-to-end tracking is in use, including for CGL 2024, CHSL 2024, JE 2024, and MTS/Havaldar 2024.
