Government Sanctions IKS Centre at NSU Tirupati as VRC Sets Ramayana Legal Conclave

  • The new unit at National Sanskrit University is assigned applied work in political, economic and strategic sciences as well as agriculture, veterinary and animal husbandry.
  • The Education Ministry’s Indian Knowledge Systems Division has sanctioned eight centres nationwide, including recognition for Sri Venkateswara Vedic University in Tirupati.
  • Vice-Chancellor G. S. R. Krishnamurthi said the university will strive to bring traditional knowledge on a par with modern scientific disciplines.
  • The Valmiki Research Centre announced a September 20 event in Vizianagaram titled “Sri Ramayana Sankharavam” to explore jurisprudence and constitutional ethics through the Ramayana.
  • Organizers plan to convene judges, academics, lawyers and students for sessions on governance, ADR and mediation, gender justice, human rights, ethics, modern law, leadership, policy and crisis management.
