Government Plans Export Scheme for Tribal Goods Using E-Commerce and Overseas Warehouses

Higher funding plus sharply lower GI tag fees aim to speed product registration and market access.

  • The government reported a 50% increase in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs budget this year and reduced GI tag fees to Rs 1,000 to encourage more registrations.
  • Officials cited 3,900 Van Dhan Kendras supporting roughly 12 lakh members as a platform for scaling market-linked tribal enterprises.
  • The conclave showcased over 250 enterprises with around 150 exhibitors and more than 100 start-ups on the Roots to Rise platform, supported by partners including FICCI, PRAYOGI, and SIDBI.
