Government Formalizes New Pay Scale for Over 800 Sunafil Workers

The decree is financed from Sunafil’s own budget, avoiding extra Treasury spending while formalizing pay bands the government says will strengthen labor inspection.

Overview

  • The government published Supreme Decree No. 230-2026-EF on Friday, October 30, 2026, officially approving the new salary scale for the Superintendencia Nacional de Fiscalización Laboral (Sunafil).
  • The scale sets monthly ranges by group: professionals S/8,150–S/10,150, technicians S/3,850–S/4,850, auxiliaries S/2,940–S/3,440, and directivos S/11,000–S/15,600.
  • Measured against current consolidated pay, the decree awards fixed monthly increases of S/1,345.89 for professionals, S/545.89 for technicians, S/635.89 for auxiliaries, and S/695.89 for certain directivo levels.
  • The new pay rules take effect on December 1, 2026, and the decree specifies funding will come from Sunafil’s institutional budget so no additional resources from the Treasury are required.
  • The move follows a union strike that began on October 26 calling for the decree, replaces the 2013 scale, consolidates increases granted from 2022–2025, and includes usual benefits such as two annual gratifications and a school bonus.
