Overview
- The Commerce and Industry Ministry disclosed on Friday that ₹36,754 crore had been paid to PLI beneficiaries through June 30, 2026.
- DPIIT reports the schemes have attracted ₹2.58 lakh crore in actual investment, produced sales of ₹23.79 lakh crore and generated exports of ₹15.53 lakh crore.
- PLI beneficiaries account for more than 14.57 lakh direct and indirect jobs and large domestic sales in electronics and pharmaceuticals, with the electronics subprogramme receiving the largest share of disbursals.
- The government highlighted technology transfers and new medical-equipment manufacturing by global firms such as Siemens, Wipro GE and Philips, and noted the National Single Window System's e-Production (e-B-4) module launched in November 2025 to speed foreign professional onboarding.
- Despite broad gains, DPIIT data show uneven progress across the 14 sectors approved in 2020 with a total outlay of ₹1.91 lakh crore, including no disbursals to date for advanced chemistry cell batteries, which may delay domestic EV-supply-chain goals.
