Overview

• The Special Official Funeral Category 2 begins at 09:00 on Sunday, 12 October at Siyabonga Sangweni Sport Complex in Kwa-Mbonambi, with ceremonial elements performed by the South African Police Service.
• The service will air live on local television and stream on GovernmentZA channels on Facebook, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
• Accreditation is required only for media, invited guests, service providers, and support staff, with collection at uMfolozi Local Municipality on 11 October (15:00–19:00) and 12 October (07:00–10:00).
• Members of the public can send messages to condolences@gcis.gov.za or sign condolence books at the Union Buildings, Parliament and Tuynhuys, major airports, embassies, legislatures, ANC headquarters, and premiers’ offices.
• Temporary road closures will be implemented between the service venue and the burial site to facilitate the cortege, with motorists advised to expect slow traffic.
