Government Awards LTIMindtree Rs 792 Crore Contract for PAN 2.0 Rollout

Overview

  • The Income Tax Department awarded the PAN 2.0 contract to LTIMindtree for ₹792 crore following a competitive RFP process.
  • The project was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs in November 2024 at an estimated cost of ₹1,435 crore.
  • LTIMindtree will serve as the managed service provider responsible for the design, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the unified digital platform.
  • Existing PAN holders can upgrade free of charge without reapplying and will retain their existing 10-digit identifier.
  • The rollout is scheduled within 18 months and will integrate Aadhaar linkage and establish a centralized data vault for over 81 crore PANs and 73 lakh TANs.
