Overview
- The 285-foot-long Gottesman Pool at the Davis Center launched June 27, replacing the Lasker Rink & Pool and operating daily from 11 am to 7 pm with a cleaning break from 3 to 4 pm.
- Admission is free without ID, and the facility features updated locker rooms, shaded seating and a free summer meals station for children under 18.
- New York City Parks has certified 680 lifeguards so far and will continue recruitment through mid-July to staff its 65 outdoor pools.
- Beginning July 7, the pool will offer free Learn to Swim classes and adult lap swim sessions as part of the Let’s Swim NYC initiative.
- After summer, the pool basin converts into a turf field during the fall and into the Harlem Oval ice rink in winter.
