Investigations now focus on suspected electrical faults after crews contained each blaze without injuries.

Overview

  • Mumbai Fire Brigade declared a Level I blaze after flames erupted in the common meter box of a G+5 building in Goregaon (West) and deployed multiple agencies within minutes.
  • Residents of the Goregaon building were evacuated as a precaution, no injuries were reported, and officials have opened a probe into the meter-room ignition.
  • On Tuesday morning, a massive fire gutted the KGN Biryani Shop in Kalyan’s Lodha Palava; Dombivli firefighters doused it within an hour with no casualties.
  • The Kalyan shop blaze destroyed furniture, refrigerators and raw materials, and police diverted traffic on Shilphata Road during the operation.
  • In a separate incident, smoke from a rear wheel of an MSRTC electric bus in Thane prompted the safe evacuation of 13 passengers, and the vehicle was later towed away.
