Gorai Mangrove Park Nears Completion with Mid-August Opening

A planned entry fee will secure funding for upkeep of the park’s solar-powered eco-facilities created by the state Mangrove Cell.

  • The Rs 33.43 crore project spans eight hectares in Gorai village and has been developed by the state Mangrove Cell since 2021.
  • Final finishing works including painting, lighting and landscaping using eco-friendly materials are underway ahead of the mid-August opening target.
  • A 750-metre elevated wooden boardwalk and an 18-metre watchtower offer panoramic views of the mangrove ecosystem.
  • The site will feature a two-storey Nature Interpretation Centre alongside a rooftop café and a nature-themed gift shop.
