GOP Threatens FBI Director With Contempt for Withholding Biden Document

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer plans to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress for refusing to share an informant file accusing President Biden of a $5 million bribery scheme.
Comer subpoenaed the FBI for an FD-1023 form allegedly describing Biden's criminal scheme with a foreign national involving money for policy decisions.
When Wray refused to provide the document, citing confidentiality concerns, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy warned he would move contempt charges.
Comer says the FBI's refusal to release the key Biden document is "obstructionist and unacceptable."
The contempt vote would be largely symbolic but serves to publicly admonish Wray for defying the committee's oversight authority.
