GOP Frontrunner for NC Governor Mocked School Shooting Survivors, Defended Killing Protesters

North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, the leading Republican candidate for governor in 2024, attacked and mocked survivors of the 2018 Parkland high school shooting.
Robinson called the teenage survivors "spoiled, angry, know it all CHILDREN" and "silly little immature 'media prosti-tots.'"
Robinson also defended the National Guard killing of student protesters at Kent State University in 1970.
Robinson became North Carolina's first Black lieutenant governor after running in 2020.
Current Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper cannot run for reelection, leaving the governorship open in 2024.
