Goole Leisure Centre Nears Completion with Autumn 2026 Opening Set

The council-funded rebuild will expand family and fitness options in Goole with new pools, a health suite and entertainment attractions.

Overview

  • Work by contractor Willmott Dixon has advanced to cladding and window installation, tiling in pools and changing areas, and active fitting of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • The initial build is due to be handed over to East Riding of Yorkshire Council for final fit-out this summer ahead of a public opening in late autumn 2026.
  • New facilities will include a refurbished gym, café, main and learner pools, a health suite, a bowling alley called Dockyard Bowl, soft play and a Ninja Tag obstacle course.
  • The project is funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council with a contribution from the Goole Town Deal and remains under council oversight for the final interiors and operations.
  • Local people have been invited to take part in naming features and can follow monthly project newsletters and videos as the site moves into its final construction phase, which coincides with Goole’s bicentenary year.
