Overview

  • Canva’s Create a Video Clip feature lets Pro, Teams, Enterprise and Nonprofit users generate up to five eight-second AI videos with synchronized audio each month.
  • YouTube CEO Neal Mohan said at Cannes Lions that Veo3 will be integrated into Shorts this summer, though a specific launch date has not been confirmed.
  • Google’s Veo3 model is trained on a subset of YouTube videos without opt-out, delivering realistic motion, ambient sounds and accurate lip syncing.
  • Creators warn that AI-generated Shorts could crowd out human-made content, potentially hurting revenue and platform visibility.
  • Canva Shield moderation and YouTube’s new image-and-likeness protections aim to block harmful or infringing AI outputs.
