Overview

  • The Personal context setting is enabled by default but can be toggled off and offers tools to view, manage or delete past conversations.
  • Temporary Chat mode isolates one-off conversations from your history, prevents their use in model training and deletes them after 72 hours.
  • The staged rollout began August 13 on Gemini 2.5 Pro in select regions, with expansion to the 2.5 Flash model and additional countries in the coming weeks.
  • Google is renaming the “Gemini Apps Activity” control to “Keep Activity,” allowing users to opt out of having a sample of future uploads used for service and model improvements.
  • An Android Authority teardown spotted references to expanded Canvas tools—such as web page creation, infographics, quizzes and audio overviews—but Google has not confirmed their release.
