- Google placed a notice in the Gems manager saying it will automatically migrate users’ Gems into the skills system and that Gems will remain usable until they migrate.
- Skills are already available to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers inside the Gemini Spark tab and can be invoked in chat by typing a slash, letting multiple skills run at once.
- Gems let users set a default tool, attach specific files for context, and share a Gem via a link, functions that reporters say are not yet clearly matched by skills.
