It's the end of an era for Google Wallet and PayPal.

Overview

  • On June 13, Google Wallet in the US will stop supporting PayPal accounts, automatically deleting all linked connections and disabling that payment option.
  • New PayPal account linkings have been blocked since April 11 as part of Google’s phased removal of the feature.
  • PayPal-branded debit cards will still work in Wallet, allowing users to spend their PayPal balance despite the end of direct account integration.
  • After June 13, Google Wallet will no longer display PayPal transaction history, so users must view those records via PayPal’s website or app.
  • The change is limited to the US, with Google Wallet users in Germany retaining the ability to link and use PayPal accounts.
