Google Wallet Adds Arkansas State IDs on Android, Marking 10 Supported States

Enrollment requires card photos plus a short selfie video reviewed by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.

Overview

  • Arkansas goes live as the 10th U.S. state with digital ID support in Google Wallet on Android.
  • Users add an ID by submitting front and back images and a brief facial verification video, with approval typically completed within minutes.
  • The digital ID is stored locally as a private pass on a single device and is not synced to the cloud.
  • Identity data is shared only after local biometric confirmation and transfers securely via NFC or QR/Bluetooth.
  • TSA accepts these IDs at select checkpoints, but a physical card is still required, and devices must run Android 8 or later with a screen lock and Bluetooth/Nearby enabled.
