Overview
- Google announced a major NotebookLM upgrade on Monday, June 8, that replaces the prior model with Gemini 3.5 and integrates Antigravity to improve accuracy and make the system’s reasoning more visible.
- Each notebook now includes a secure cloud computer that can write and execute code and a library of more than 100 curated software skills to perform deeper data analysis and automated workflows.
- NotebookLM can now use Google Search to discover and suggest high-quality web sources so users can start projects from loose ideas instead of uploading documents first, while users keep control over which sources are added.
- The tool can export finished outputs in many formats, including PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, CSV, JSON, PNG/SVG charts and Nano Banana images, letting users generate editable reports and slide decks directly from their notebooks.
- The rollout begins for Google AI Ultra subscribers and Workspace business accounts with AI Ultra or Expanded Access, Google reports side-by-side evaluation gains of about a 65% average win rate, and broader availability will follow over time.
