Overview
- Google announced the family version of CC on Sept. 17 as an early Google Labs experiment that is rolling out in the U.S. to adults with upgrade invites for existing users and a waitlist for new sign-ups.
- Each household CC has its own verified Google Account, supports up to six members, and runs on an isolated cloud instance using Google’s Antigravity agent harness and Gemini models.
- Members control what CC can access by forwarding items, auto-sharing messages from selected senders, adding CC to calendars, or sharing Drive files, and they can change those sharing choices at any time.
- CC delivers a shared “Your Day Ahead” briefing, maintains a family calendar and task list, and can take agentic actions with permission, such as pre-filling forms, creating lists or Docs, and checking live Maps drive times.
- Google has not said how long CC retains shared memories or shown full inspection, edit or delete workflows, a gap that raises practical privacy and family-policy questions for households and for wider rollout.
