Google to Retire Play Movies & TV, Transition Users to Other Platforms

Google is set to retire Google Play Movies & TV in January, transitioning users' purchased content to other services.
Starting January 17, users can access their purchased content via the 'Your Library' row on the Shop tab on Android TV devices, or through the YouTube app on Android TV cable or set-top boxes and web browsers.
The transition has been gradual, with Google already moving Android and iOS users to the Google TV app, removing the app from most Roku and smart TVs, and pulling the app from Android TV in October.
Despite the platform change, Google assures users they will continue to have access to their purchased content.
The ability to buy or rent movies on YouTube is not available globally, but only in a few regions.
