Overview
- A toggle labeled History Off Search appears above the keyboard in the Google app when entering a query.
- Enabling the toggle opens results in a Chrome Custom Tab that is already set to Incognito instead of showing them inside the app.
- Searches performed with this option are not saved to your device or Google account history for that session.
- The feature has been observed in recent beta builds, including Google app v16.42.61.sa.arm64, and it is not broadly available.
- Google may change the name or implementation before release, and this mode does not mask IP addresses or prevent ISP or employer tracking.
