Google Sells Major Domain Name Business to Squarespace for $180M

Google is selling its domain name registration business, Google Domains, to Squarespace.
The deal includes the more than 10 million domains currently registered with Google Domains.
Squarespace will take over as the domain name registrar for Google Workspace customers for the next three years.
Google Domains only recently launched its domain registration service in March 2022.
Google will retain control of Google Registry, which manages top-level domains owned by Google.
