Google Rolls Out Premium Deep Think Model and Guided Learning in Gemini

Updates combine premium reasoning models with interactive study tools to broaden AI access for researchers, students.

Overview

  • Gemini 2.5 Deep Think is now available to AI Ultra plan subscribers at $250 per month, using extended processing time to tackle complex math, science and coding problems in multi-minute sessions.
  • Developer API access for Deep Think will launch in the coming weeks, opening the model to enterprise and research applications beyond the Gemini interface.
  • Gemini’s new Guided Learning mode offers AI tutoring with step-by-step explanations, while responses now automatically embed images, diagrams and YouTube videos alongside flashcards and study-guide generators.
  • Eligible college students in the U.S., Japan, Indonesia, South Korea and Brazil can claim a free 12-month Google AI Pro subscription, unlocking advanced tools such as NotebookLM, Deep Research, Veo 3 and Jules.
  • Google has pledged $1 billion to support AI training at U.S. higher-education institutions over three years, partnering with more than 100 universities including Texas A&M and the University of North Carolina.
