Overview
- A basic Vids editor is rolling out to all users with templates, stock media, and core tools, but it excludes the newly announced AI features.
- AI avatars are now generally available with 12 pre-made personas and voices, and Vids does not currently support creating an avatar of yourself.
- Vids adds Veo 3–powered image-to-video generation that produces eight-second clips and an AI transcript trimmer to remove filler words and long pauses.
- Access to the new AI capabilities is limited to Workspace Business or Enterprise Starter, Google AI Pro or Ultra subscribers, and Workspace for Education customers.
- Google says Vids has about 1 million monthly active users and notes additional items in development, including noise cancellation, Meet-like backgrounds, and new sizing formats without specified release dates.
