Overview

• Sharing is available in the Gem manager on the web by selecting a Gem and clicking the Share button.
• Recipients can get access via email or a link that opens the chat with a “This Gem is shared” notice, with interactions saved under a new Shared with me section.
• Permissions mirror Google Drive with options to restrict, allow link access, or grant editing rights, and a Gemini Gems folder appears in Drive.
• The capability is live for personal Google accounts and Workspace customers, with mobile sharing not yet supported.
• Gems originated in 2024 with Gemini Advanced, expanded to all users in March with file uploads, and sharing addresses a frequent request for classrooms, teams, and households.
