Google Rolls Out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 6 to Pixel Devices

The build delivers Platform Stability so developers can test against finalized Android 17 APIs before a wider public release.

Overview

  • Google began distributing Android 17 QPR1 Beta 6 as build CP31.260618.005 on July 1, 2026 for Pixel 6 through Pixel 10 family devices and the Android Emulator.
  • Platform Stability in this beta means Android APIs and system behavior are considered final for app developers to target and test.
  • Beta 6 fixes several user-facing regressions including selecting multiple spell‑checker languages, volume button behavior in the Clock app, visual glitches when swiping the media carousel, a WindowManagerGlobal crash that caused app exits, and hotspots showing a generic SSID.
  • Testers can get the update through the Android Beta Program, over-the-air or factory images from Google’s hosting site, or by sideloading OTA files, and should report issues via the Android Beta Feedback app, Google’s Issue Tracker, or the Android Beta subreddit.
  • This release continues Google’s incremental QPR1 stabilization work ahead of a broader summer rollout and the September Feature Drop and includes build metadata that reporters noted lists a June 5, 2026 security patch level and an updated Google Play services version.
