Google Rolls Out Android 16 QPR3 Beta as Verizon Ships Targeted Pixel Hotfix

The beta adds new interface controls and a Pixel 10 GPU driver upgrade, and Google warns of possible data corruption if users leave the program after installing Beta 1.

Overview

  • Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1 (build CP11.251114.006) is live via the Android Beta Program and OTA with the December 2025 security patch for a wide range of Pixel devices from Pixel 6 through Pixel 10, including Fold and Tablet models.
  • New Pixel features in the beta include a removable At a Glance on the home screen, adjustable flashlight brightness, an alternative 3‑button navigation layout, a blue location-use indicator, a refreshed folder animation, and the “Minimal” themed icons option.
  • Pixel 10 series receives an updated PowerVR GPU driver (driverInfo 25.1, version 1.634.2906) that adds Android 16 compatibility and Vulkan 1.4 support, with early reports noting stability and compatibility improvements rather than big frame rate gains.
  • Google cautions that devices may experience data corruption if users exit the beta after installing QPR3 Beta 1 and advises opting out before installing or waiting for Beta 2.
  • Separately, Verizon is pushing a small ~25MB December patch (BP4A.251205.006.E1) to Pixel 8, 9, and 10 models to fix faster-than-normal battery drain, intermittent touch unresponsiveness—notably on Pixel 10—and issues accessing locally stored content after major OS upgrades, with rollout starting on Verizon and some reports in the UK.
