Google Rolls Out AI Shopping That Chats, Calls Stores and Checks Out for You

The U.S. rollout uses Google’s Shopping Graph plus upgraded Duplex to move holiday purchases from search to agent‑led actions.

Overview

  • Conversational shopping is now live in Search’s AI Mode and the Gemini app for U.S. users, delivering shoppable images, comparison tables, prices, reviews and inventory powered by a product graph exceeding 50 billion listings.
  • Agentic checkout can purchase items on eligible merchants’ sites via Google Pay once a tracked price target is met, with users confirming payment and shipping before any order is placed.
  • Early merchant support includes Wayfair, Chewy, Quince and select Shopify stores, with broader participation planned as the rollout expands.
  • The “Let Google Call” option begins in toys, health and beauty and electronics, discloses an AI caller to retailers and honors merchant opt‑outs, with summaries returned to users by email or text.
  • AI Mode shopping results will include sponsored listings, while ads are not appearing in the Gemini mobile app for now, and Mashable reports the calling feature is not launching in Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana or Nebraska.
