Overview

  • The beta is available now for enrolled Pixels from the 6 series through the 9 lineup, plus Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet, under build BP41.250725.006 with the August 2025 security patch.
  • Phones gain lock-screen widgets via a swipe-in “glanceable hub,” expanding a feature previously limited to tablets.
  • Icon options now include Default, Minimal, and a new Create entry, with auto-themed icons generating cohesive looks for apps that lack monochrome assets; Create is present but not yet functional.
  • An expanded dark theme can intelligently invert light app UIs, darken splash screens, and align status bar colors, with Google positioning it as an accessibility aid.
  • Google advises opting out of the Android Beta Program before installing QPR2 if you want the stable QPR1 next month without a factory wipe, as leaving the beta after installing QPR2 can require erasing the device.
