Google Releases Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3.1 for Pixel Devices

Available now via a compact OTA or factory image for enrolled Pixel beta testers, the update delivers over 20 fixes addressing system stability, UI inconsistencies plus audio reliability ahead of a stable QPR1 rollout in early September.

Overview

  • The August 14 Beta 3.1 build BP31.250610.009 incorporates the July 2025 security patch.
  • Eligible Pixel 6 series and newer models enrolled in the Android Beta for Pixel program can download the update immediately via a roughly 65 MB over-the-air package or factory images.
  • The release resolves more than two dozen bugs, including unexpected restarts during network use and crashes during system updates.
  • UI patches fix folded-screen Quick Settings misalignment, notification clipping and lock-screen media playback glitches.
  • Audio reliability is enhanced by addressing muted audio during voice-to-video call transitions and memory corruption in audio buffers that caused call drops.
