Google Posts Pixel Hotfix as QPR3 Beta Arrives With Pixel 10 GPU Driver Upgrade

Factory and OTA images are now available for the small December fix that targets post‑QPR2 regressions.

Overview

  • Google published factory and OTA images for the second December build, with Global (BP4A.251205.006.E1), Japan (BP4A.251205.006.C2), and EMEA (BP4A.251205.006.A4) variants, expanding access beyond the initial carrier push.
  • Verizon’s changelog says the patch for Pixel 8–10 fixes faster‑than‑normal battery drain, Pixel 10 touch unresponsiveness, and failures to access locally cached content after direct upgrades from Android 14 to 16.
  • Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1 is live via the Android Beta Program for Pixel 6 and newer, adding a removable At a Glance widget, adjustable flashlight brightness, a reversible 3‑button navigation layout, a blue location indicator, and a new folder animation.
  • QPR3 Beta 1 updates the Pixel 10 series’ PowerVR GPU driver to driverInfo 25.1 with Vulkan 1.4 support, a change expected to improve graphics compatibility and stability more than raw frame rates.
  • Google warns that leaving the beta after installing QPR3 Beta 1 may cause data corruption and advises unenrolling before installing or waiting for Beta 2, with stable QPR3 expected around March 2026.
