Google Pixel 10 Series Rumored to Feature MediaTek T900 Modem and Tensor G5 Chipset

Reports suggest Google is shifting from Samsung to MediaTek and TSMC for improved performance and efficiency in its upcoming Pixel 10 lineup.

  • The Pixel 10 series is expected to include four models: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
  • Google is reportedly replacing Samsung's Exynos modems with MediaTek's yet-to-be-released T900 modem, based on the M85 architecture and supporting the 3GPP Release 17 5G standard.
  • The Tensor G5 chipset, rumored to power the Pixel 10 series, will reportedly be manufactured by TSMC using its advanced 3nm 'N3E' process for better power efficiency and performance.
  • This shift is speculated to address longstanding issues with overheating and poor network performance in previous Pixel models.
  • The Pixel 10 series is anticipated to launch in the second half of 2024 and is expected to run on Android 16 out of the box.
