Overview

  • The revamped editor replaces tiered menus with a single row of three thumbnails featuring Enhance, Dynamic editing and a new AI Enhance option that offers three composite edits combining sharpening, object removal and more.
  • Auto Frame uses generative AI to suggest compositions and fill blank spaces while Reimagine lets users add or alter image elements with text prompts.
  • A new targeted editing mode lets users draw on objects to trigger context-aware options such as moving subjects, blurring backgrounds or adjusting lighting.
  • Album sharing now works via QR codes so recipients can view or contribute photos without navigating sharing settings manually.
  • The update celebrates 10 years of Google Photos, which serves over 1.5 billion monthly users and stores more than 9 trillion photos and videos.
