Overview

  • Google Photos’ new Photo-to-video feature is live in the U.S., turning still images into six-second clips using Veo 2 prompts like “Subtle movements” or “I’m feeling lucky.”
  • Remix, powered by Google’s Imagen AI, will let users transform photos into styles such as anime, comics, sketches and 3D animations when it rolls out in the U.S. in the coming weeks.
  • A new Create tab in Google Photos will centralize AI tools and traditional editing features, with a U.S. launch scheduled for August.
  • YouTube Shorts creators in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand can already access Veo 2-powered image-to-video, generative effects and the AI Playground hub, with a Veo 3 upgrade planned later this summer.
  • All AI outputs include invisible SynthID watermarks and visible labels, and users can provide thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback to help Google refine safety measures and model performance.
