Google Meet Rolls Out AI Makeup With 12 Adaptive Looks

AI analyzes facial features with ambient light to keep virtual cosmetics looking natural during calls.

Overview

  • The feature began a staged rollout on October 8 and is expected to reach all eligible accounts within about 15 days.
  • Eligible plans include Workspace Business and Enterprise tiers, Education Plus and Teaching and Learning add-on, Google One premium, and Workspace Individual subscriptions.
  • Users can choose from 12 studio-style presets that adapt in real time to movements such as sipping coffee or touching the face.
  • The option is available on web and mobile, is off by default, and can be enabled before joining or during a meeting with preferences saved for future calls.
  • The capability builds on last year’s Touch-up tools that provided skin smoothing and lighting adjustments.
