Google Issues Pixel 10 Bug Fix Update and Releases Android 16 QPR2 Beta 2 at Platform Stability

A focused bug fix coincides with a beta milestone locking QPR2 APIs for developers.

Overview

  • Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL are getting a small September OTA (~31MB, build BD3A.250721.001.E1) that Google says fixes critical bugs and improves stability.
  • Verizon confirmed the update addresses a widely reported 'fuzzy' or 'snowy' display glitch on some Pixel 10 units.
  • Earlier September fixes for the Pixel 10 line included resolving black-screen transitions in in-app browsers and a power-button failure when connected to Android Auto while charging, with reports also citing keyboard responsiveness improvements.
  • Google released Android 16 QPR2 Beta 2 (BP41.250822.010) with Platform Stability, adding developer verification APIs, SMS OTP Protection, system-wide custom app icon shapes, a more efficient ART generational garbage collector, and Health Connect step tracking.
  • The Pixel 10 series is now eligible for the Android Beta Program to receive QPR2 builds, and the stable QPR2 release is expected in December, though unenrolling from beta typically requires a factory reset.
