Overview
- Google began rolling out Google Health version 5.05 on Monday, Aug. 3, which for iPhone users enables Google Health to write Fitbit‑collected exercise records, steps, sleep and vitals into Apple Health.
- Users set up the connection inside Google Health by granting per‑category permissions and choosing how much history to share, so only the metrics and time window they select are written to Apple Health.
- The release does not yet sync heart rate variability (HRV) and initial historical imports have limits, a gap reporters and users attribute to differing HRV calculation methods between platforms.
- Version 5.05 also adds Smart Health Links in the United States so people can create secure, shareable summaries of medical records for providers or family members.
- Google bundled fixes for VO2 max, exercise mapping and workout editing in the update and said the feature is on iOS now with a phased rollout to Android and wider regions to follow.
