Overview

  • Scheduled Actions is rolling out to subscribing users of Google AI Pro, AI Ultra and eligible Workspace business and education plans, with no current roadmap for free-tier inclusion.
  • Users can ask Gemini to perform one-off or recurring tasks by naming dates or intervals during a chat and then manage them on the dedicated Scheduled Actions page in the app’s settings.
  • Gemini leverages its integration with Gmail, Google Calendar and Docs to provide personalized updates, such as daily email summaries, calendar overviews or tailored news digests.
  • Google has yet to clarify whether Gemini will limit the number of active scheduled tasks, in contrast to ChatGPT’s known cap of 10 simultaneous tasks.
  • The launch underscores Google’s push to make Gemini more proactive and versatile, intensifying competition with AI assistants such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Apple’s Siri.
