Google Gemini Enhances Sheets with Python-Powered Data Analysis and Charting

The AI assistant now offers deeper insights, trend analysis, and static visualizations for Workspace and Google One AI Premium users.

Google has updated its Gemini AI assistant in Sheets to perform advanced data analysis using Python code, enabling multi-layered insights.
Users can now ask Gemini to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in their spreadsheet data, providing context-rich answers.
The new features include the ability to generate static visual charts, which can be inserted into spreadsheets but do not update dynamically with data changes.
These capabilities are available to Google Workspace Business and Enterprise Standard and Plus subscribers, as well as Google One AI Premium users.
The rollout of the new features has begun and is expected to complete by February 20, 2025, for all eligible users.
