Google Fi Launches Web Calls Page as RCS Moves to Google Messages for Web

RCS access now lives in Messages for web leaving calling and voicemail on a separate Fi page.

Overview

  • The new Web Calls site at fi.google.com/webcalls hosts calling and voicemail, with calls available even if the phone is off when the user is signed in.
  • Texts now route through messages.google.com/web, the experience is Android-only, and enabling RCS requires stopping Fi sync in Messages before turning on RCS.
  • Web behavior differs by item type: deleting a call on the web does not sync to other devices, deleting a voicemail removes it everywhere, and bulk deletion on the web is not supported.
  • Google says offline RCS support is planned for the future with no timeline, and it is working to reduce tab clutter when switching between the two sites.
  • Legacy “Sync with Google Fi” for SMS will remain available until February 2026, but signing out ends access to that system, and Fi features on the web require account sign-in rather than QR pairing.
