Google is facing a $7 billion lawsuit over allegations of patent infringement related to its artificial intelligence technology.
The lawsuit was filed by Singular Computing, a Massachusetts-based computer science company founded by Joseph Bates.
Singular Computing alleges that Google illicitly used its computer-processing architecture to improve its AI technology, which is used in Google Search, Gmail, and Google Translate.
Google has denied the allegations, stating that the company engineers found Bates' technology unsuitable for their software.
The trial, which is expected to last two to three weeks, begins in Boston on Tuesday.
