Google Extends Stadia Controller Bluetooth Upgrade Deadline to End of 2024
The extension provides an additional year for users to convert their Stadia controllers to Bluetooth functionality, following the shutdown of Google Stadia earlier this year.
- Google has extended the deadline for Stadia controller owners to upgrade their devices to Bluetooth functionality until December 31, 2024.
- The original deadline was set for the end of 2023.
- The Stadia controller can connect with other devices such as Windows 10, 11, and MacOS 13 PCs with Steam, as well as ChromeOS and Android after the upgrade.
- Stadia controllers that aren't switched to Bluetooth mode by the new deadline will become essentially useless as the ability to switch will disappear.
- Google Stadia, the platform for which the controllers were originally designed, was shut down in January 2023.
