Google Expands Lens Visual Search Features to iOS Chrome and Google Apps

iPhone users can now search their screens using Google Lens with enhanced AI capabilities and new gesture-based tools.

Google Lens screen search is now available on iOS through the Chrome browser and Google app, allowing users to search directly from their screens without taking screenshots or opening new tabs.
The feature can be accessed via the three-dot menu in both apps, with plans to introduce a dedicated Lens icon in Chrome's address bar in the coming months.
Users can interact with the feature by highlighting, drawing, or tapping on content, enabling searches across text, images, and videos for tasks like shopping, defining terms, or identifying objects.
Google is also expanding its AI-powered Lens capabilities with AI Overviews, which provide detailed contextual information about unique or unfamiliar objects without requiring specific user queries.
These updates are rolling out globally this week, starting with English-language users on iOS, with broader support for Chrome on desktop and mobile expected soon.
