Overview
- Google announced on Wednesday, September 23 that it is shipping HP Dimension units with Google Beam to customers in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Germany and Japan as part of a commercial rollout.
- The company has formalized a network of 18 channel partners to install and support Beam hardware and to help enterprises deploy the room-style booths.
- Beam is delivered as the HP Dimension with Google Beam and integrates with Google Meet and Zoom so teams can join immersive, true-to-size 3D meetings without changing their conferencing platforms.
- Starting in October, Industrious locations in Atlanta, Chicago, New York City and Palo Alto will offer bookable Beam sessions so startups and small teams can use the booths on demand rather than buy full systems.
- Google cites an eight-week internal study and partner pilots showing stronger connection, clearer feedback and fewer follow-up meetings, while early customers such as Bain, Netflix and Capital Group tested recruiting, manager check-ins and client consultations with the system.
