Google Expands AI Travel Tools With Global Flight Deals, Canvas Planning and U.S. Restaurant Booking

A staged rollout prioritizes planning and dining now under a partner-led payments model as direct flight and hotel checkout remains in development.

Overview

  • Flight Deals, an AI-powered search in Google Flights, is rolling out to more than 200 countries and territories with support for over 60 languages.
  • Canvas in AI Mode can now build and save customized itineraries that combine real-time flight and hotel data with Google Maps details and web results, available on desktop in the U.S. for Labs users.
  • Agentic restaurant reservations are launching this week to all U.S. users in AI Mode, while agentic booking for event tickets and local appointments remains limited to U.S. Labs.
  • Google says it is working to enable direct booking of flights and hotels inside AI Mode in collaboration with partners such as Booking.com, Expedia and major hotel chains, with no launch timeline provided.
  • Transactions and servicing for bookings will be managed by partner companies rather than Google, and AI Mode surfaces curated options with links to partners like OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, Vivid Seats, Booksy, Fresha and Vagaro.
