Overview
- Google has begun notifying users in-app that Gmailify support is being discontinued beginning January 2026.
- Gmail will retire the “Check mail from other accounts” feature that uses POP, so new messages will no longer be fetched via POP.
- Emails previously imported through POP or Gmailify will remain accessible in users’ Gmail accounts.
- Third‑party accounts can still be added to the Gmail app on Android and iOS via IMAP, but Gmail’s spam filtering, category tabs, and other exclusive features will not apply.
- On the web, Google directs users to set up automatic forwarding with their other email providers, and it separately acknowledged a recent Gmail filtering issue causing spam misclassification and delays that it says is being resolved.
