Overview
- Eligible Workspace users will see a purple Vids icon in Drive video previews that opens the file in Google Vids for editing.
- The cloud workflow supports trimming plus music and text overlays, then saves the result as a new Vids project that users must export to keep changes.
- Only MP4, QuickTime, OGG, and WebM files under 35 minutes and 4GB are supported at launch.
- Access is limited to paid Workspace tiers and add-on subscribers, including Business and Enterprise plans, Nonprofits, Education Gemini add-ons, Google AI Pro and Ultra, and prior Gemini add-on purchasers.
- Google says the feature is rolling out over roughly 15 days, works best on desktop, and should function in mobile browsers with limitations.
