Overview

  • The experimental Android-only alpha release is available via a sideloaded APK on GitHub, and Google confirms an iOS version is coming soon.
  • Users must sign into a Hugging Face account to download open-source LLMs—including Google’s Gemma3n—for tasks like image analysis, chat interactions and text or code generation.
  • Three built-in tools—Ask Image, AI Chat and Prompt Lab—offer example workflows with configurable settings for tokens, temperature and hardware accelerators.
  • Local model processing relies on powerful device CPUs or GPUs, which can accelerate battery drain and risk overheating on mid-range or older phones.
  • Offered under an Apache 2.0 license for academic and commercial use, the app remains experimental and may crash or produce inaccurate results.
