Overview
- Androidify can generate a personalized watch-face APK on the phone from a selfie-derived avatar and a Watch Face Designer template, assembling it with the Pack tool.
- Before transfer, a Watch Face Push validator checks content and performance and issues a required installation token for the watch.
- The phone streams the APK to the watch over the Wearable Data Layer, and the Wear OS app installs it using the Watch Face Push API.
- Wear OS 6 enforces a single-slot model per app, so Androidify either installs into a free slot or swaps the existing face when pushing a new one.
- Setting the face active requires the com.google.wear.permission.SET_PUSHED_WATCH_FACE_AS_ACTIVE permission with one-time use rules, and some users may still need to select the face manually on the watch.
